Field trip to Winterlude - encourage ideas for future Field trips - finalize plans for programmers meeting & let people know they are all invited to attend - ask if anyone brought photos for review & discussion - Ask how everyone made out with Flicker & blogging\ - show & discuss assignment photos - draw for participation in assignment - John will do a presentation on lighting for a portrait shoot. It'll be hands on and we'll do an actual shoot. John will bring some flashes and a backdrop. |

Meeting location: Salamanders Christmas Party! Our December meeting will be held at Salamanders in Kemptville. At the meeting, we will be able to eat drink and be merry, but we will also show the results of the Around the World assignment results. The restaurant will provide us with three menu options to streamline ordering and get us food faster. There is room for 40 people, so we ask that you RSVP ahead of time by emailing John Wilberforce (contact us if you don't know his email address). For now, we are limiting guests to club members, but may be able to open it up later to to spouses, etc depending on the number of RSVP's. |

Chance for members to show, discuss, and have reviewed photos they bring with them on a USB memory stick (you may want to bring your Halloween photos!). Rideau Ramble outing: How did it go? What should the next outing be? How can we improve attendance? Scott Kelby Photo Walk: How did it go? Participants, bring some photos to show! Demo: How to upload photos to Flickr and share them with the NGPC Flickr group so they appear on our website and on Facebook automatically. Demo: How to write a blog post with photos. Meeting location: First Floor Amphitheatre (new!), Parish Building, University of Guelph, Kemptville Campus (info and map) Members are asked to submit their "all time favourite photos" (or what they think are their best) using the Contest Submission Recipe by September 25th. These photos will be shown and discussed during this meeting. We will also have another photo editing session with Tom. (At the end of the meeting we will offer tutorials for resizing photos for the submission recipe for those who need a helping hand. Feel free to bring your laptop if you want to try it for yourself, but we will also demonstrate it with the projector.) |

Register soon at the Kemptville walk's web page as there are many Ottawa photographers interested in joining our walk. Meet at Brewed Awakenings before 3pm as the walk will be held from 3:00-6:00pm. The walk will be followed by a dinner at Salamander's - if you wish to attend dinner, please contact Heather so she can make reservations (Contact Us if you need her info). |

At 7pm at the college, club member Tom Greene will be doing a half hour instructional on photo editing. Two photographs will be systematically edited to bring out the best in each. |

Members should submit a maximum of three of their favourite shots using the contest submission recipe by July 31. Tom will then be going over options for various photo editing software & John will be showing us a few examples of what we can do with that software. They both encourage all who can to bring a laptop & their photo editing software of choice to make the meeting more hands on. |
